A new handmade home decor business in Sydney’s CBD is set for opening later this month.
The handmade goods site handmade leather goods says it will open a store in the CBD on March 10.
The company has been working for more than two years on the business, which is now officially up and running.
“We have been working on this for a while now,” co-founder and CEO Anna Kavanagh said.
Ms Kavanag said the site was set up after her daughter visited the CBD in October and asked to buy handmade leather shoes and bags. “
For me, it is about making something for people that are not necessarily aware of the opportunity for artisanal design.”

“I thought, well, this is a great idea for a business,” she said.
The owner of handmade goods company handmade leather items, Anna Kavanagh, said the community needed to be aware of what was going on in the artisanal fashion world.
“There are a lot of people who have not realised that there is a lot going on behind the scenes,” Ms Kavanc said.
She said she was excited about the opportunity to work with a community that had a lot in common.
“If we’re working with a group of people from a diverse community, it’s really important for them to know that we’re all just here to help each other,” she added.
The site has a small team of three, including Ms Kvavag, and it has been funded through a crowdfunding campaign.
Ms Kavin said it was important for the community to know the history of the industry.
“You don’t get a job because you are not good enough, you get a chance because you work hard and do it well,” she explained.
Ms Dyson said it could also be about showing that people who worked on the site could be involved with the local community.””
They are working for a community, for the people in this city and that is why we have to be involved in this and not just take advantage of it.”

“It’s about the community coming together and understanding that you don’t always have a chance in life, you don´t always have opportunities, you just have to take advantage and take that and do that and then you can go on to get better,” she told ABC Radio Sydney’s AM.
