Ivanka Trump has a message for those of us who are still struggling to accept the fact that her daughter Ivanka Trump Jr. is a man who, while at least partially female, has never claimed to be a woman.
Trump has not given up on her claim that she is a woman, though she has also made it clear that she would rather continue to call herself that.
At a rally on Wednesday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she said that she doesn’t feel the need to hide her identity and that her “special gifts” to the community should be provided to women in need.
The New York real estate mogul has long made a point of saying that she was raised by a single mother in New York City.
In fact, the Trump family was founded in 1924 and named for her father, the real estate tycoon and founder of the real-estate business.
However, she has been criticized for her decision to be the only woman in her father’s administration.
While Trump was secretary of state, Trump was criticized for being an anti-feminist, an anti–gay rights advocate, and a racist, for which she was eventually fired.
In a statement, Trump said that as a woman who grew up in a family that struggled to find the right balance between family values and work, she wanted to help “make our country great again.”
